As you guys already know, visiting Tulum was on my New Year’s Wishlist, so I am currently daydreaming what I would do and where I would go. The number one choice where I would be staying and the one that captured my attention most while browsing rentals in Mexico definitely is Casa Ixchel. My blogger friend stayed here and was astounded by the service, location of the place and the amenities. You have your own butler, housekeeper and a cook on demand, which is so over the top I know. However, a vacation to me is all about splurging and enjoying the luxury which would be considered unnecessary when you are at your home. You only live once and you only vacation once in a while, so why not make the best of it?
If you have been reading my blog for a while you know staying in eco-friendly natural places is my thing. This stunning villa generates electricity from solar panels and a wind turbine, which I thought was pretty cool. It is perfectly nestled between the radiant hues of the Caribbean Sea and the old growth jungle outside Tulum. There is something about jungle scenery and natural sounds, especially during the night that makes me sleep like a baby.
Mornings here would be spent jumping out of bed straight into the swimming pool and swimming for 30 minutes as a morning exercise. Tulum is famous for its great yoga teachers and wonderful retreats, so attending a few yoga classes here and there should be obligatory if you ask me.
Grabbing a breakfast at a lounge area right at the beach, sipping my smoothy, eating almond croissants, banana pancakes, fresh fruit and drinking cappuccino with cinnamon would be my post-exercise routine. The point of exercising when you are on vacation is eating a 1000kcal breakfast guilt free During the day I would be sunbathing, snorkeling, or reading a book. There is that feeling of spending the whole day on the Sun when you feel tired but satisfied and calm, like a child, without a care in the world. I really miss that feeling because I haven’t been on a proper vacation for ages.
Magnificent manicured garden space would be perfect for afternoon chilling with friends accompanied by tapas and frozen margaritas. My favorite Mexican food includes tacos, empanadas, black bean and sweet corn guacamole dip, grilled sweet corn with different salsas. I could eat this food pretty much every day and I would never get bored of it.
The main thing for me when I travel is time spent socializing with friends. My friends are spread out all across the globe in different time zones, and vacations seem to be the only time we are able to spend together and reconnect, so being able to have a large verandah with plenty of lounge areas and a chic alfresco dining set would be perfect for the occasion. Whether you are having a soul to soul conversations, drinking vine or looking at the sky, I feel the way space is organized has so much to do with how at easy people feel.
Ok, I am ready to board a plane and head straight to Mexico now, are you with me?
